We have received many inquiries about the Linden High School Athletic Hall of Fame. We strongly believe that the legacy of athletic achievement at Linden Community Schools is something to be celebrated and preserved. In recent decades our high school has dealt with the challenges that come with preserving the artifacts from our district’s 100-year history. As a part of our construction initiatives funded by the 2020 LCS Bond, we have sought ways to make the Hall of Fame relevant to all of our students (past, present, and future) in the limited space available.
Contrary to what you may have heard on social media, the Linden High School Athletic Hall of Fame is NOT being eliminated, but it is undergoing a modern facelift. During the extensive renovations that the high school is undergoing this summer, the items have been carefully removed, digitized, and are currently being stored in a nearby classroom.
The updated Athletic Hall of Fame will contain both physical and digital artifacts from our past. As time moves on, each year moves further into our past and items will continue to be digitized so that they can be viewed for another 100 years into our future. Our new digital showcase will be accessible beyond the walls of Linden High School allowing everyone to enjoy and share the contents. This solution honors the legacy of our past students, keeps the Athletic Hall of Fame relevant for our current students, and maintains space for our future students. We will continue to display our more significant awards, all state honorees, and Hall of Fame Inductees in a four- to five-year rotation. We will also continue to maintain the Linden Athletic Hall of Fame. We look forward to completing this project and sharing it with our community.
